5 tips for the new hall
Are you planning to redo the hall? How fun! The hall is the first thing we encounter in the home. Today we share five tips for a practical, welcoming and personal hall.
- If you are remodeling the hall from scratch, you need a good hall floor. Clinker and natural stone are popular to put in the hall precisely because they are durable and water resistant. A stone hall floor is easy to keep clean, and if you think it feels cold, you can lay underfloor heating. Then you feel properly welcomed to the home!
- If you choose to lay a stone floor, you need to think about what surface the stone should have. Polished stones are easier to clean, but the dirt is more visible when it is there. If you instead choose stone with a rougher surface, the floor hides dirt better but is more difficult to clean. Think about what suits you and your family best!
- If you also redo the entrance, you can connect it with the hall. Choose a stone that fits both inside and outside - it gives a cool impression when the same stone comes with you inside!
- Give the walls a proper beauty lift , and dare to choose something other than white! Invest in colors that give the hall warmth and character. For example, use earthy colors for well-being or invigorating for energy. Unlike the hall floor, you don't have to think as practically here. There is rarely room for large furniture in the hall, so take the opportunity to do something different with your walls. Put for example cladding stone, wall brick or a lovely tile or clinker on one or some of the walls.
- If you want to do a superficial renovation, there are small tricks that make a big difference. If you have an existing stone floor, you can give it a new shine stone treatment . On the walls, you can put mirrors and paintings to make your hall a little more fun and also more personal. Picture groups, or even better: mirror groups, create eye-catchers in your hall. You can also decorate the hall with family photos and other things that have sentimental value for you.
