Ecostone, återvunnen sten till hem och trädgård

Ecostone, recycled stone for home and garden

Why manufacture new when you can recycle old? That's what our purchasing manager Fredrik thought when it came time to find a granite ceramic for Stenbolaget. The result was EcoStone, a durable series of ceramic tiles made from recycled material.

EcoStone is a series of granite ceramics, i.e. ceramic tiles made from finely ground porcelain clays. The granite ceramic is very durable and frost-resistant, which means it can be used both for home and garden. From a sustainability perspective, it has good durability and is preferable to many other building materials. In addition, EcoStone has a natural appearance and is a good alternative to real stone. But there is something else about our series that makes it so special. EcoStone is manufactured with up to 41.73% recycled material.

- Stone is a limited resource that must be handled sustainably, says our buyer Fredrik Carneroth. Today we see that new products are coming to the market with high proportions of recycled material at the same time as more and more quarries are being shut down. EcoStone is a series of durable clinker tiles and is a splendid example of products with high natural values. By using recycled materials, we preserve nature by taking advantage of the minerals that are already in use.

Granite ceramics EcoStone Outdoor also carries the environmental certification Green Leaf which is issued by the independent quality assurance company Intertek. This means that the product and production have undergone a number of environmental and health-related checks, ranging from the materials used in production to equipment. The department that works with the quality assurance of building materials has existed for more than 10 years and has extensive experience in quality assurance of ceramic products and ensuring that they also comply with the EU's so-called REACH regulation regarding the use of chemicals.
