Hembesök hos projektvinnaren 2014

Home visit to the project winner 2014

In 2014, My and Björn won Stenbolaget's big construction project competition and thus received a gift card worth SEK 50,000 to shop with us. They chose to brighten up their garden with a new beautiful entrance in tumbled concrete stone together with a beautiful natural granite stone. With a solid south-facing staircase, they created a sweet spot on the property to enjoy a cup of coffee or a simple lunch on fine summer days.

The goal of the project was to create a plot that they would continue to be inspired by long after it was in place. A plot that welcomes and creates a nice oasis to make yourself at home in.

"You should be inspired by Santa, that was our goal. And think it turned out so well!”

The most common option when laying stones on the plot is to choose paving stones in grey, but My and Björn instead chose stone in the color terracotta mixed with red mix, which gave a warm and lively impression.

"Grey stones can be great, but so much of the year is gray and for the place we wanted to create, we wanted a little more color"

They then chose to cut the ground stone to be able to build on the vibrant with beautiful laying patterns and curved walkways. Against the magnificent staircase, they built a semi-circle with the ground stone which resulted in over 1,000 cuts! They also had to cut the brick to get a neat bend without gaps.

"We're glad the neighbors still talk to us!"

Take part in the entire project at the project site and find the inspiration for your build. Here you can also check other people's projects and see who won in previous years. And as a final word for this time, we can share some advice from My and Björn; dare color, let the ideas take time, celebrate several times over and don't be a time optimist!
