A newly built villa on a sloping plot with many level differences. We wanted to build a welcoming entrance that lifted the house, but also create a larger patio directly adjacent to the main entrance. To do this, we also needed to build a retaining wall that would capture the shape of the house.
The house is becoming more and more welcoming!
Everything is growing! A retaining wall of Keystone granite is built that follows the shape of the house. Paving stones, one of Bender's mixed varieties, are laid outside the entrance and patio and granite block stairs are built, granite curbs frame the flowerbed and driveway.
Finally finished!
Finally it's finished! A welcoming entrance with crescent-shaped steps, a granite staircase and carriage ramp that takes the guest up to the entrance and patio. The retaining wall captures and reinforces the shape of the house and the flower bed below picks up the shape of the crescent-shaped entrance with the help of the curb stone. We are so pleased!
