Installation instructions Granite curb stone RV6
Granite curbstone Gray RV6 is a stable curbstone in the durable material granite! The stone provides a stable paving during installation. The stone's straight shape and sawn underside make it easy to install and save time compared to many other curb stones on the market. Framing your garden areas with granite curbs raises the whole impression and adds a natural and exclusive touch. Combine with matching radius curbstones to create the garden's soft shapes. The stone is equally suitable for framing both decorative stone , granite slabs , slate and ground stone .
Choose between the RV6 in a rough-hewn version and in a modern vintage with a smooth blasted surface.
The task of a curb stone is to separate different land surfaces and to mark what the landscaped surface is intended to be used for. Examples of areas of use are demarcation between pavement and street, planting and footpath or lawn and flowerbed. The curbstone also has an important task as extra support when constructing, for example, garage driveways.
STEP 1
Dig out a gutter separately or adjacent to the pavers you want to give extra support to. The gutter should be approx. 40-50 cm wide.
If curbstones are to be installed next to a flagstone surface, this is done before the flagstone is laid. To mark the desired height, stake sticks and mason's string are used. Put a fiber cloth in the bottom, fill the shaft with a load-bearing layer of crushed rock 0-32 and pack it properly. Remember that at least 50% of the curb must be buried.
Stenbolaget tips!
Keep in mind that at least half of the stone will disappear into the ground. So it is important to think about how you want the final height of your kerb before you start assembling. The more that disappears into the ground, the more stable the surface becomes.
STEP 2
Always start at the lowest elevation if your surface slopes. Then place curb wedges on which you place the curb to make it easier to adjust heights. For a more ergonomic installation, curb scissors are advantageously used. When the heights are correct, you backfill against the curb from both sides, either with soil-moistened concrete or crushed rock 0-32 mm or a similar fraction.
