Granite ceramic tiles

Granite ceramics are clinker tiles for outdoor use that are made from finely ground porcelain clays. The tiles have a high material density and low moisture absorption, which makes the granite ceramics incredibly durable and resistant to dirt and scratches. In other words, a garden tile and outdoor tile with an extremely long life! Granite ceramics are only becoming more and more popular and today we see a great demand for these types of garden tiles. Granitkeramik is a ceramic tile and frost-resistant outdoor tile. Which makes them a perfect choice in our harsh outdoor climate. The frost-resistant surface of the granite ceramic makes it well suited and an excellent choice for those who want to lay a patio, garden path, conservatory, outdoor shower or build a greenhouse. If you cast a concrete slab and set granite ceramics with fix and joint, our 20mm thick slabs can also be used for a driveable surface.

As granite ceramics barely absorb water, it becomes more difficult to get growth on the surface and the slab becomes easy to maintain. Choose from a wide range of colors, structures and formats and find your future granite ceramics and outdoor tiles with us at Stenbolaget . And if you are looking for a natural stone and real stone floor, we recommend that you take a look at our slate and granite range .

PATTERN IMAGES AND NATURAL TONES

Granite ceramics are manufactured at high temperatures and under very high pressure. The patterned surface is also carefully selected and produced to make the tiles in the series as lifelike as possible. In our range you will find a wide palette of earthy tones and textures that imitate natural stone. From our darkest stone slab Tjörn with its black tone, to one of the lightest in the series Björkskär. Björkskär comes in a concrete gray shade that mimics limestone. Stenbolaget's granite ceramics have been named after the coast and islands around our long country. And you can certainly associate any of them with a holiday memory or two. The pattern and texture of the surface is a big factor in why the stone is perceived as alive and so natural. Granite ceramics has nothing to do with granite, but is a term to explain the hardness, density and strength of the tiles.

SOLID FORMAT AND EXACT SIZES

We have focused primarily on really large formats of our outdoor clinker/granite ceramic and you get a modern surface with fewer joints. The majority of our tiles are found in the large format 897x597mm and also in the smaller size 597x597mm...if you call it too small. Large slabs give a beautiful pattern as the texture wanders beautifully through the stone. Pattern matching can be difficult but definitely worth thinking about when assembling your new patio. Large formats are really in fashion and are also suitable for paving as lovely stepping stones in grass and gravel paths. The granite ceramic tiles also have very precise shapes and can be installed with narrow joints. The contract, angles and dimensions are very precise as great precision lies at the manufacturing stage. The granite ceramic is calibrated, which means that the thickness is very precise, unlike other natural stone. The calibration contributes to the granite ceramics being easy to mount in both bearing layers and on cast substrates

GRANITE CERAMIC AS A POOL DECK

A popular garden area to install granite ceramics as a pool deck. You get a smooth surface and a nice walking surface for summer and holiday running and playing. Our granite ceramics and outdoor clinker are also available to match pool curb stones for a complete pool area and continuous surface. The pool stones form the pool edge itself and with a softly rounded edge will be able to withstand a cooling dip during the hot days of the year.

ASSEMBLY ON MOLDED SUBSTRATE

In order for your outdoor floor to feel like a floor and to have as stable and even installation as possible, granite ceramics are often installed on a cast substrate. This is despite the fact that it is of course also possible to put the tiles in stone chips and on a packed bed of crushed stone. When installing on a cast substrate, it is important that the concrete slab maintains a thickness and is reinforced and well suited for the load and purpose. The frost-resistant clinker is then mounted with a fix suitable for the product. Our main recommendation is to put the tiles with Murexin KTF55 . The fix is combed up and the plates are mounted on the villi that form after the sweeping strokes of the notched trowel. With a notched trowel, you can determine the bed thickness by using a tooth depth of between 6-10mm. The surface is then jointed with the cement-based joint compound Murexin FM60 in selected colour. We recommend mounting your tiles with a joint distance and not putting the tiles close together and leaving out the joint.

MAINTENANCE-FREE OUTDOOR FLOOR

Granite ceramic is an incredibly forgiving and hard-wearing material that, due to its scratch resistance and dense surface, does not absorb stains and dirt as easily as other tiles and outdoor tiles can. But since the tiles are outdoors, of course the surface may need to be washed off. Water and a brush are usually used to wash your outdoor floor, but can be enhanced with certain types of stone cleaning and stone soap . Finishing is rarely required and the tiles provide a finished surface to use and enjoy.

GRANITE CERAMICS FOR HOUSES AND HOMES

Granite ceramics do not absorb water and are a perfect floor for both outdoor surfaces and all indoor rooms in the home. We have also chosen to stock a series of granite ceramics for indoors. These clinker tiles come in a thinner format and with a thickness of 10mm. Granite ceramics can be installed in all types of indoor environments, both in the home environment and public areas. Choose to lay your granite ceramic as a hall floor, as a floor or around work surfaces in kitchens, bathrooms, shower corners and other spill-sensitive surfaces. Granite ceramics conduct heat well and can be advantageously installed with underfloor heating.
