Stone stairs & steps

A stone staircase gives a beautiful impression and a stable walking surface that remains attractive over time. Here in our webshop you will find all our different variants of block steps in granite and steps in concrete as well as stair coverings for a new shine of your stone stairs.

Block steps are solid stair blocks that make up the massive steps in a garden staircase. You can choose from a range of different stone types, shades and step lengths. Choose a step that suits the purpose and find the right step height for your outdoor stone staircase. Our staircase series Villa and Mini come in light granite and with a slightly lower step height that blends well into the garden room. While our standard step comes with a step height of 150mm.

Regardless of the type of stone stairs you have planned to build in your garden, you are guaranteed to find a staircase that fits your home. Important thoughts to unravel before you buy your steps are how wide you want the stairs to be, how high the stairs should be, what material and what color your garden stairs should be.

Whichever staircase you are going to build, mount your steps with a slight fall forward so that water can easily run off the steps in the right direction and not collect on the steps and form an ice street in winter.

Calculate consumption of block steps

You calculate your need by dividing the height you need to build up by the height of each block step. For example, if you have a height difference of 1 meter and want to build with our Villaserie granite stairs with a step height of 140mm.

Then divide 1000mm by 140mm and get your result. In this case, the need becomes 7.14 steps (1000/140) to get up from the ground to the top level. Here is the time to round up to 8 and either raise the level or lower the first step into the ground and let the bottom step have a lower step height. When you know the number of steps, you can easily undo these with the finished step depth of the block step. In this case, when we used the Villa series, the step depth is 320mm. We will therefore get a staircase that measures 8x320mm = 2560mm in depth. Also deduct about 2cm as each step will overlap each other during assembly.

So for a stone staircase built from granite block steps Villa, you get measurements of approx. 2400mm in depth and with a drop height of 1m the need is 8 steps.

And the last thing you have to decide now is the width of your stairs. There are many stone stairs to choose from here. Measure and test yourself according to your specific needs.

Block steps

We have block steps for outdoor stairs in both natural stone and concrete, in a wide range of colors and stone types. Block steps in granite come with a raw wedged front and with a blasted step surface for a comfortable grip. A stone staircase made of block steps provides a heavy and stable staircase that, with its weight, remains stable over time. If stairs are installed outdoors with joints, these should be joined with a soft joint for best results. The soft joint does not crack and can follow any subsidence in the ground.

A step in beautiful granite gives a living stone staircase where both textural differences and veins can live through the stone. These historic outcrops tell the story of granite.

Buying a granite staircase is the most durable staircase construction you can choose. Avoid sanding and oiling that wooden stairs require, and you can just enjoy your stone stairs right after the staircase construction is finished.

Stairs in your retaining wall

A neat alternative is to let a stone staircase built from block steps slip up into your retaining wall. The wall series often come with ear stones, which gives you an opportunity to angle your stone wall. This creates opportunities for quick passage and a welcoming feeling even in the garden wall.

Entrance stairs in granite

A wonderful staircase chapter in our product portfolio is our entrance stairs. The step comes solid in granite and in both rectangular and semi-circular shapes. Choose between different sizes in everything from smaller steps for the laundry room and rough entrance to solid steps for a real manor house feel. Combine the different sizes and place on top of each other for a cheeky multi-step staircase. You then automatically get a perfect step depth adapted for both large and small shoes. If you are planning to build a multi-step staircase with a final landing in a rectangular shape, it is very possible to build up your edges and lower steps with block steps, then fill up with bearing layers and finish with the entrance floor itself. All entrance steps in granite come with a flamed surface. So when mounting together with other block steps in our range, the surface may differ slightly. The flamed surface is above all a little rougher and with more tears than the blasted one. No shade difference at all, just the surface structure. Both entrance floors and block steps are heavy products and you can buy them conveniently with our home deliveries. We deliver quickly throughout the country.

Cladding of a staircase

Stair cladding is an excellent material and surface layer you can use to cover an existing staircase or foundation. The stair covering is installed to give a new and fresh look with the help of fix & joint . Remember that a stone staircase is heavy, so it is important that you are careful with the surface and have the right tools and machines available. We also have several inspirational articles that can help you choose the right staircase as well as several guides on how to assemble your staircase.
