Alböke Borstad Gråbrun is a wonderfully colour-changing Swedish limestone from Öland. Best suited for indoor floors in hallways, kitchens and other communal areas of the home.

Appearance

This limestone has a beautiful vibrant color that shifts in color where the shades will differ for each slab. In addition to the color changes, this limestone often has historical elements with fossil impressions and beautiful marbling. These tiles are square shaped with a measurement of 400x400 millimeters. The plates are 12 mm thick.

Surface structure

This variant is antique brushed, which gives a slightly structured surface. Although the surface remains soft and comfortable to walk on, this surface treatment gives the stone a more rustic feel than a polished or planed limestone.

Installation and maintenance

These tiles are cut in a fixed format, which makes it easy to calculate how much waste can be used, normally the waste rate is around 10%. Limestone in bathrooms will be incredibly beautiful - remember, however, that it is a sensitive stone that should not be exposed to strong chemicals and acidic substances. For this reason, a strong recommendation is not to put limestone in the shower area, for example, where a lot of water with soap and shampoo comes into contact with the floor and wall.

When the stone is to be laid, we recommend a natural stone fix for the best results. KTF55 is a good choice of fix for Alböke. A cement-based hard joint is needed for the joint, Murexin FM60 is a good alternative to it.

When the surface is jointed and ready, it is good to clean the surface with a stone soap and impregnate the surface with a suitable impregnation.
