Alböke Borstad Röd is a red colored Swedish limestone from Öland. Suitable for floors indoors in the hall, kitchen and bedroom.

Appearance

This limestone has a beautiful red color that changes in shade from slab to slab. With its beautiful marbling and historical elements, the greatness of Alböke lies in how vivid and detailed the finished surface becomes. These tiles are 200mm wide and come in descending lengths. With varying lengths of the stone, the stones are laid in a classic way and give the surface an even more lively impression. The plates are 12 mm thick and are fixed in place on a cast base.

Surface structure

This variant is antique brushed which gives a slightly structured surface while still being very smooth. Although the surface remains soft and comfortable to walk on, this surface treatment gives the stone a more rustic feel than a polished or planed limestone.

Installation and maintenance

When laying falling lengths, spillage is minimized by piecing together the surface, normally the spillage rate is 10%. Limestone in bathrooms will be incredibly beautiful - remember, however, that it is a sensitive stone that should not be exposed to strong chemicals and acidic substances. For this reason, a strong recommendation is not to put limestone in the shower area, for example, where a lot of water with soap and shampoo comes into contact with the floor and wall.

When the stone is to be laid, we recommend a natural stone fix for the best results. KTF55 is a good choice of fix for Alböke. A cement-based hard joint is needed for the joint, Murexin FM60 is a good alternative to it.

When the surface is jointed and ready, it is good to clean the surface with a stone soap and impregnate the surface with a suitable impregnation.
